Pam J.
Pam started her Orton-Gillingham journey to help her dyslexic daughter. Today, as the founder and owner of Pam’s Reading, and with 19 years of Orton-Gillingham experience, she has helped students improve their reading skills, increase academic confidence, and build life skills with great fortitude. Pam has trained under several of the nation’s Orton-Gillingham Academy leaders. She has a knowledge base of learning disabilities and a fun learning approach. Pam has served the reading-challenged community since 2008. She keeps up with the latest trends and philosophies and can meet students in person and virtually. Pam has been an active member of the Orton-Gillingham Academy since 2014, and other organizations for ADHD, autism, and dyslexia. Pam has also given back to her community by serving as a Reading Tutor for the Augustine Project in Charlotte for 3 years from 2005-2008 and as a Substitute Teacher at The Fletcher School in Language Tutorial.






Carol S.
Carol has been tutoring for over 16 years. Her tutoring journey is deeply personal. Carol was inspired to become a Certified Level 1 Wilson tutor and practitioner after her son was diagnosed with dyslexia. She has recently completed 60 hours of training to renew her practitioner status. Carol loves working with students of all ages and values the student-teacher relationship. Most of all, Carol wants to make their reading journey easier!





Terry B.
Terry is a consummate professional educator. She is trained in several Orton-Gillingham and Lindamood-Bell reading programs. She has 38 years of experience as a classroom teacher and special educator in Connecticut and North Carolina. You will find Terry’s cheerfulness and her ability to make learning accessible to struggling learners contagious.





Tami D.
Growing up with a father who didn’t read and then having a son who was diagnosed with dyslexia has given Tami a passion for helping others learn to read. She has been an Orton-Gillingham Tutor for 20 years. Tami trained through the Institute of Multi-Sensory Education and various other courses. There is no need for anyone to suffer from reading challenges. Learning with Tami is fun and successful!





Olivia K.
Olivia is a third-grade teacher for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. She graduated from Elon University with a degree in elementary education and has spent the past 4 years as a first and third-grade teacher in Charlotte. After taking the Orton-Gillingham training through the Institute for Multi-Sensory Education. Olivia implemented the strategies in the classroom and small groups and has tutored for 2 years with Pam’s Reading. Olivia loves teaching reading and helping all students find their passion for reading!





Hansuta K.
Hansuta earned her Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Special Education from Clemson University in 2019, with a focus on Learning Disabilities. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology in India. Hansuta is a certified K-12 Special Educator in the state of North Carolina and has earned certification in Orton-Gillingham, a method for teaching reading to students with reading difficulties, from the Institute of Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE). She also has experience working with two local non-profits in Charlotte, NC, that work with underserved children through literacy programs. Hansuta believes that reading should be fun and exciting instead of being a chore and loves creating lessons that are simplified and engaging.





Marisa M.
Marisa dedicated 30 years to teaching in both public and private schools in New Jersey. Her most recent position was in Upper Saddle River, NJ, where she served as an in-class support teacher, a Wilson Tutor/teacher, and a resource center teacher, providing assistance in reading, math, writing, and general academic support. In Upper Saddle River, the school prides itself on its commitment to training. During her time there, she trained in PAF, Orton-Gillingham, IMSE (another Orton-Gillingham-based program), as well as the Wilson Reading Program at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Eventually, Marisa began tutoring Orton-Gillingham privately via Zoom during COVID. She then decided to join Pam’s Reading to continue her work in a supportive environment.





Alise M.
Alise is passionate about helping students, especially older students, overcome their reading challenges. A licensed teacher with a degree in English Education, Alise is certified by the International Dyslexia Association as a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist. She holds a Graduate Certificate in Dyslexia Education from Southeastern University, where she was trained in the Orton-Gillingham method. As a licensed NILD Educational Therapist, Alise works with students who have learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. She also enjoys teaching English as a second language and holds a state license to teach in this field. Alise looks forward to helping your student succeed!





Constantina C.
My name is Constantina and I look forward to connecting with you and your child. I have earned a Master’s in Special Education and I have 22 years of teaching experience. I live in Waxhaw with my husband, my 14-year-old son, and twin 12-year-old girls. My passion is teaching and helping children reach their potential, and build on their self esteem. I have completed the Associate Level Training from The Fletcher School in Charlotte, NC. When not tutoring, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, walking, and traveling. Kimberly W.
Dr. Wilson is a licensed Special Education teacher for grades K-12 with more than 20 years of experience supporting children in diverse settings. She is dedicated to equipping students with the skills necessary for academic achievement and lifelong success. Dr. Wilson specializes in teaching reading to children with learning differences, empowering them to recognize that their unique characteristics do not limit their potential.






Kristin C.
I serve students in Fort Mill, South Carolina, providing individualized instruction in all language arts subjects for kindergarten through fifth grade, as well as foundational mathematics skills through division. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Pittsburgh and have 7 years of classroom teaching experience in both public and private school settings.
In addition, I bring 15 years of specialized tutoring experience using the Orton-Gillingham approach and have extensive training in the Wilson Reading System. I work with students who experience learning differences such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia, and I support learners from a variety of education environments, including homeschool, private, and traditional public school settings.






Danielle B.
Danielle is a dedicated educator with more than 23 years of teaching experience, serving students since 2002. Throughout her career, she has been passionate about helping learners develop the academic, organizational, and life skills needed to achieve success both in and out of the classroom. Danielle holds a Master’s Degree in Computers in Education and has extensive experience integrating technology, innovation, and hands-on learning into educational environments. Her background includes teaching STEAM education, supporting diverse learners, and designing engaging, student-centered learning experiences that foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. In addition to her classroom experience, Danielle has completed multiple Orton-Gillingham trainings and is highly trained in structured literacy practices. She specializes in supporting students with reading and language-based learning challenges through evidence-based, multisensory instruction tailored to individual needs. Danielle also holds an Academically and Intellectually Gifted (AIG) Certification, which has enhanced her ability to support advanced learners through differentiated instruction, enrichment opportunities, and challenging educational experiences that encourage students to reach their full potential. As a certified Mindfulness practitioner, Danielle incorporates strategies that promote self-awareness, focus, emotional regulation, and resilience into her work with students. Her holistic approach helps learners build confidence while strengthening executive functioning, literacy, and academic skills. Driven by a commitment to lifelong learning and student success, Danielle strives to create supportive, engaging, and inclusive learning environments where every student is empowered to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.






KaLynn B.
My name is KaLynn, and I am a certified Reading Interventionist. For 7 years, I have worked with a variety of students with developmental disabilities, ADHD, autism and learning disabilities. My passion is helping children achieve their educational and life goals.
For two years, I worked as a Registered Behavior Technician, improving my skills at reducing unsafe behaviors, increasing social skills (verbal and non-verbal), improving academic skills, social/emotional learning, and teaching life skills.
To enhance my students reading abilities I implement explicit instruction, educational games, and reading activities to help my students strengthen their reading skills.






Rachel B.
Rachel is an Orton-Gillingham trained tutor with a Master’s degree in Child and Developmental Psychology and a diverse background spanning education, behavioral intervention, and child development. As a former educator, she has taught preschool, elementary, and middle school students, giving her extensive experience supporting learners across a wide range of developmental stages and academic needs. In addition to her classroom experience, Rachel worked for six years as a Behavior Analyst, providing individualized support to students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, epilepsy, Down syndrome, OCD, and other developmental and behavioral challenges. Her expertise in evidence-based interventions, behavior management, and individualized learning strategies allows her to create effective, student-centered educational plans that foster both academic growth and confidence. Rachel has worked collaboratively with families, educators, therapists, and multidisciplinary teams in school, home, and clinical settings. Her comprehensive understanding of child development, learning differences, and family systems enables her to build strong partnerships and provide holistic support tailored to each student’s unique strengths and needs. Combining her specialized Orton-Gillingham training with her background in psychology, education, and behavioral sciences, Rachel is dedicated to helping students develop foundational literacy skills, achieve academic success, and reach their full potential in a supportive and engaging learning environment.
